Gizmodo (not to be confused with Gizmondo which is an unsuccessful handheld video game console) is a design, technology, science and science fiction website that also features articles on politics. It was originally launched as part of the Gawker Media network run by Nick Denton, and runs on the Kinja platform. Gizmodo also includes the subsite io9, which focuses on science fiction and futurism.

Why They're Rotten

  1. Richard Blakeley, a videographer for Gizmodo's publisher, Gawker Media, disrupted several presentations held at CES in 2008. Blakely secretly turned off TVs using TV-B-Gone remote controls, resulting in his being barred from CES 2008, and any future CES events.
  2. They were in illegal possession of an iPhone 4 around the time it was out.
  3. They attacked GamerGate multiple times.
  4. Heavily pro-political correctness and pro-censorship.
  5. They claimed Boogie2988 and Pewdiepie were anti-Semites.
  6. When citing James Damore's memo, instead of providing a link to the original piece, they removed all charts and links in it to make him look as sexist and baseless as possible.
  7. They attempted to dox FBI Director James Comey.[1]
  8. The tried to smear William Shatner by posting a picture of him wearing a Nazi uniform and paint him as a racist bigot and alt-right supporter. This is poisoning the well as Shatner wore it during a Star Trek episode.[2]
  9. They hailed the icon change of Facebook as a feminist triumph.[3]
  10. They attacked Ken Bone for his comments on Reddit.
  11. 44 employees left the company in order to be avoid being laid off.
  12. Ironically, they admit that Twitter is trigger happy with censorship.
  13. They even called their own parent company a "fucking mess".
  14. As with other Gawker sites, alongsided VICE and Buzzfeed, some articles contain unnecessary amounts of foul language and misplaced information.
  15. Lack of disclosure in articles violating FTC guidelines.
  16. Very anti consumer, as they defended EA and their shady practices especially lootboxes.
  17. They have a history of pettiness, such as one journalist Alyssa Bereznak shaming her date for being a mtg player.
  18. They even stalk Palm Luckey because of his libertarian viewpoints.
  19. Despite being a tech oriented news site, they are very immature and ignorant in handling tech products.
  20. They also were mad at the fact Harley Quinn is being portrayed as a villain just as Bruce Timm and Paul Dini intended for their Batman and Harley Quinn film.
  21. They even called Apple sexist for a number of ridiculous reasons.
  22. They also attacked Shadman and Smash Mouth for retweeting one of his images.
  23. They can be really invasive and pushy such as chasing Milo Yanopoulis out of a NYC bar.
  24. They can be implicity racist towards white people, such as attacking Danny Rand for being white in Iron Fist.
  25. They also spread fake news against Trump.
